Our Wedding :: DESSERT TABLE

Finally another post about our wedding as promised!

For the presentation of the cake at our wedding, I really wanted to do an entire dessert table featuring 5 different cakes and several of our favorite candies. We chose the candies based on Rich’s favorite, both of our parents’ favorites and my favorite. The candies were all placed in the apothecary jars with scoops and bags laying next to each.

For the cakes, Rich and I wanted to offer our guests of variety of flavors both of cake, filling and icing so we opted for doing several 10″ round cakes rested on cake stands. The cake we chose for ourselves was a banana cake with chocolate butter cream filling.

Of course with all of these cake choices, I couldn’t resist to take the opportunity to create little labels for each one:

… and certainly by now you’ve noticed the incredible cake topper.

No, it was not made out of chocolate, it was actually a collaboration between my Aunt Terri for the the design and my Uncle Matt for the incredible wood carving! Thanks you two!

The topper is now a display piece that we have in our house to remind us of our day. It’s a beautiful piece of sculpture… more on that later.
