teknetex Ad Designs

Mr. John Kepley, founder of teknetex who matches experienced candidates into tech-focused positions, became my mentor when I decided to start my own business. He is an entrepreneur himself and really wants to help other people pursue their dreams of owning a business. Considering that teknetex not only hired people in 2009, but they also nearly tripled their profit, I thought he was a valid candidate. John’s been great in helping me get started, and when he came to me to design an ad for an upcoming even they were hosting, I was honored.

teknetex is a company who really is all about people: the people who work for them, the clients who look to them for help, the techs who look to them for job placement and everyone else they are associated with. Therefore, their tagline “it’s about people” is extremely fitting. For this ad, they wanted to show something about who they are while still uplifting the spirits of the viewers to reassure them that 2010 can be better than 2009. For each option, I highlighted either the technical aspects of the company of the people part that they highly value. These are the options not chosen for this ad:

… and the chosen design:

This option highlights the technical part of the company by using a series of zeros and ones. The zero/one combination is also the on/off formula for programming pixels to create an image. The fact that it’s 2010 is a bonus that made this idea a perfect choice for this company. They loved this idea as soon as they saw it, that the changes were extremely minimal… see below.

OK, now I’m going to toot my own horn for a second and tell you that they loved the other options and working with me so much that they have already contacted me for more work. They are currently working on a marketing package for clients and decided that they want to use the base image of the microchip design for a folder.

I think this image will make a beautiful folder for them. Can’t wait to start working on it!!!

Awesome job, Amy! I really like the simplicity of both the chosen ad and the idea you will be moving forward with for the folder.
